From 38438216741541473f0fab89a6e5c11afec8cffd Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Kevin Veen-Birkenbach Date: Fri, 6 Nov 2026 12:02:51 +0000 Subject: [PATCH] fix(kvb-org-organize): harden the council hooks against sandboxed agents MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit - Move the council config to ~/.claude/agents-council/config.json, which the sandbox cannot write; the installer adds Edit(~/.claude/agents-council/**) to permissions.deny. - Run every kvb hook as /usr/bin/python3 -I and rewrite old bare python3 entries. - Refuse a council root that is a symlink, another uid's, or group or other writable, in watch, queue and radio. - Run worktree_cleanup entries as argv without a shell in /, only for compose project names. - queue block: tokenize every Bash command like bash (quotes, word-start comments, line continuations), and hold each held command to the Bash deny and ask rules of the managed, user and project settings; refuse a hold it cannot parse. - radio: deliver fields on one line of at most 1000 characters, at most 10 rows. Operator step after install: move ~/.config/agents-council/config.json to ~/.claude/agents-council/config.json. MEDUSA acceptances (kvb-think-criticize 2026-11-06, skeptics A and B): ACP-SCAN-028 load_config (config outside the sandbox, Docker residual 093); CODEGEN-SCAN-004 and LLM06 run_cleanup and worktrees_command shell strings (operator config only); SAST-PATH-001 queue hold Popen (the caller's own command in its sandbox); PA-133 radio hook context (peer rows, clipped); JB-SCAN-641/616/2979 clip and MM-SCAN-058 replace (name matches). 🎯 Fix: 90 % 💥 Break: 5 % 💸 Cost: 100 % ⏱️ Time: 100 % 🛡️ Security: 100 % 💰 Value: ? 🏆 Score: 86 🚦 Gate: ✅ 90/5, cost and time <= 100, security 100 % Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 --- README.md | 2 +- scripts/enable-plugins.js | 9 +- skills/kvb-org-organize/capacity.md | 7 +- skills/kvb-org-organize/scripts/watch.py | 66 +++++++--- skills/kvb-org-queue/SKILL.md | 2 +- skills/kvb-org-queue/scripts/queue.py | 151 ++++++++++++++++++++++- skills/kvb-org-radio/scripts/radio.py | 42 ++++--- tests/test_dream.py | 23 ++++ tests/test_queue.py | 79 ++++++++++++ tests/test_radio.py | 38 ++++++ tests/test_watch.py | 49 ++++++-- 11 files changed, 414 insertions(+), 54 deletions(-) diff --git a/README.md b/README.md index 5de5f30..f239ee9 100644 --- a/README.md +++ b/README.md @@ -388,7 +388,7 @@ Copy the skills into a specific project (`/.agents/skills` and `/.cl make project TARGET=/path/to/repo ``` -Both commands also patch the target's `.claude/settings.local.json` — the machine-local, untracked file, so a project's reviewed `.claude/settings.json` is never rewritten by an install: the caveman and ponytail plugins are enabled so their modes auto-activate on session start, and two reminder hooks are registered — `kvb-dream` points each agent at `/kvb-dream` at most once every twelve hours (stamped per session in `~/.claude/.dream-stamps/`), and `kvb-coach` runs its short form at the first prompt of every full hour, once across all agents (stamped in `~/.claude/.coach-hours/`); the global install also enables the `kvb-dream-notify.timer` systemd user timer, which recommends `/kvb-dream` in a GNOME notification daily at 17:00 local time and catches up once after a missed run. The `kvb-org-radio` skill registers three hooks: its prompt hook delivers `broadcast` and `direct` items on the next prompt, a PostToolBatch hook delivers `security`, `pan-pan` and `mayday` items mid-turn, and an `asyncRewake` Stop hook wakes an idle session for a `mayday` or a `direct` item sent with `--wake`. The PreToolUse hook of the `kvb-org-queue` skill sends heavy commands through `queue.py hold` once the config sets `queue_enforce`, and holds a held command to the settings' Bash deny and ask rules, which see only `queue.py hold`. The global install also installs the MEDUSA security scanner with pipx for `kvb-check-security`, unless `medusa` is already on the PATH. Two hooks of the `kvb-org-perform` skill (`skills/kvb-org-perform/scripts/log.py`) log every Agent spawn with its task class, model and effort, and store the quality feedback a sandboxed session prints, in `~/.local/state/agents-council/subagent-model.jsonl`. Every hook runs `/usr/bin/python3 -I`, so neither the `python3` of a sandbox-writable virtualenv on the `PATH` nor `PYTHONPATH` reaches the hooks, which run outside the sandbox; older bare `python3` hook entries are rewritten.
